about the artist
Thomas Marion Parham was an award-winning artist who committed himself to the creation of works that advanced the common good. He strove to have a positive impact on society and was led by this passion to paint a variety of subjects. Parham exhibited artistic talent at an early age and later received a degree in art from Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina.
At age forty, this former Dean of Students of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind made the decision to dedicate his life to a career in art. Parham served for many years as the executive director of the COLORs Youth Outreach program at Spartanburg Art Museum, enriching the lives of hundreds of students throughout his career as an educator.
