about the artist

Born in 1954 in Beslon, North Ossentia, Russia, Vadim Bora was a multidisciplinary artist skilled in painting, drawing, sculpture, silver engraving, and more. After studying at the College of Art of Vladikavaz and the St. Petersburg Academy of Art, Bora moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 1993. His reputation as an artist grew, and he taught private classes in his studio as well as at the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas. The Vadim Bora Gallery & Studio opened in downtown Asheville in 2008, where the works of national and international artists were on rotating exhibit. Bora passed away suddenly in 2011 from a stroke. The Vadim Bora Scholarship Fund at the FALC was founded in his honor.
